Resolved Question

portable desktop pc like laptop

Jan 9, 2017 8:29AM PST

Hey.
I'm looking for slim desktop pc (console killer) and I started to think about a laptop without screen, keyboard, mouse... I know I can buy any laptop and connect it using HDMI to screen but I want it to look like a console and I already have a screen, mouse and keyboard (I don't want to pay extra money)... is there any laptop without keyboard, mouse and screen??

I made a small search and landed on the HP t730/t630 Thin Client Business Desktops... is there something like this for personal gaming?? all the youtube videos about thin client is like 2-5 years old and they're all talking about business

No

A "thin client" is basically the same as a "work station", the difference being mostly in size, if they both boot and connect to a virtual operating system. You would NEVER want to use such for gaming.

Seems there are cases for those that build such.

thanks for your answer but I'm not looking for a pc build... I'm looking for a laptop with battery and small charger not giant psu... I'm ok with laptop specs... I want a device that is exactly as a laptop but without screen, mouse and keyboard

If I take the screen and keyboard from my laptop, I have something that doesn't look like a laptop at all (let alone "exactly as a laptop"), so it's quite unclear what you want.

*closed laptop

put some glue on your laptop's screen and keyboard and close your laptop... what do you see?? it's a device that look exactly like a closed laptop... I want to take this device and connect it to my tv using HDMI cable and power it on (assume it turns on even when the screen is closed)... at this point you will notice that your laptop screen, keyboard and touchpad are completely useless because they are glued with each other and you will ask yourself why did I pay for them?? why dont they make a pc that is exactly like a closed laptop but without screen, keyboard and touchpad?? I think it will be a good console killer.

Answer
Portables are a thing.

There are such things as 'tabletop' PC's.

Asus has (had?) the PT2001 - I have one.
Great 19.5" touchscreen, all in one desktop PC
Full spec Windows 10 pc, with 5 hr battery pack built in.

Dell also had the XPS 18 Portable, but I think it has been discontinued.

Lenovo even had one that was a 27" portable at one stage.
