Popping sounds in IE 7 XP Pro

by agolfnut / June 15, 2009 11:04 PM PDT

I constantly get popping sounds when I am online using IE7, Windows XP Pro. I do not have popup blocker enabled so there should be no sound issues there. I have sampled every sound from Control Panel but no luck. Any ideas?

Popping Sounds

Thanks for the suggestion, but the sound I get is independent from any clicking on my part. I can be looking at the screen when IE7 is open and hear the popping sounds (very much like a champaign cork popping, not as loud) occur at random. Sometimes one, other times three in a row, etc. There is no discernible pattern.

I have previewed every sound listed in the Sounds & Audio Devices section in Control Panel but nothing there sounds like the popping sound.

Does anyone know of a way to preview every .wav file, quickly? I did a search recently and have over 175 .wav files.

Still popping.
