Pop-ups in IE

They suddenly started to appear. How to block them effectively?

Like Pudgy, I suspect some form of malware.

Still, did you check for the obvious in IE6: Tools>Popup Blocking and set it as you like. But really malicious popup's don't obey to this setting.

This was recommended by our local computer club a couple of years ago and I've been using it ever since. It is a very "trainable" popup ad stopper. We very rarely have popups anymore.

Its so much easier to get adware etc with internet explorer. I would change my browser to Firefox immediately.

If you don't want to do that, then make sure you watch which websites you visit and which ads you click.
