I have Symantec Corporate edition installed and running and have tried numerous antivirus and spyware programs none of which have helped. Everytime I surf the web I get additional browser windows opening with ads as well as ads popping up on the pages I'm viewing.

Anybody have any tips?

Don't use Internet Explorer.

Also, this corporate edition of Symantec software wouldn't happen to be pirated would it? Among the worst possible software programs to pirate is security software. The behavior of the program could have been altered in any number of ways, and you're relying on it to warn you of such things.

Anyway... If all else fails, you can format. If you keep up on your security patches, avoid Internet Explorer like a diseased leper, steer clear of file sharing (P2P) and pirated programs... You should have very few problems with your system. That's all AFTER you've fixed your current mess.

No, it's not a pirated version of Symantec. The only problem I have with other web browsers like Firefox is they don't seem to work with some of my work related intranet and webmail sites. Any suggestions here?
