Pop up ads

Are these all part of the new owners from CBSs' idea? ******** irritating, I knew once a network purchased this thing it would go down hill. Now we have to put up with giant pop ups when arriving at the site.

If you meant the mostly HP ads

that come up when you first hit C|net, I believe they predate the CBS takeover. What I have noticed lately is that the 'click here to continue to C|net' link doesn't seem to work very well. Happy

What do you think of the ads that pop up on TV just as the monster is about to attack the hero's girlfriend?

What browser are you using?

In reply to: Pop up ads

Most browsers have popup blockers built in. With Firefox and AdBlock Plus I never see an unwanted popup.

I'm not seeing them either.

In reply to: What browser are you using?

Using FF without Ad Blocker. Do have check on Block Pop Ups in the FF options. I don't mind ads in the page, I do despise pop ups. I also don't like those flash ads that suddenly expand across the page on some sites.

But I get the scroll across the top that is very annoying and the big one in the beginning. For some reason I don't remember them before the new design.
