Question

Poor Wi-Fi on ipaid mini

Jun 10, 2016 7:34PM PDT

Is there a way to increase the reception on my iPad mini? My Sister can connect to my home network, till we leave the addition, but I can barely go 50 feet to the car. I have an ios of 9.3.2.

That 50 feet

Is there a wall or such in the way? I've used pads outdoors to 100 feet line of sight so is there a wall or such blocking the signal?

50 feet, but no blockage.

It's about 50 feet to the car, but no blockage, between tne car and the router, other than the outside wall and possibly a tree. The signal strength is strong on my Sister's phone.

Move the WiFi outside the wall for now. Remember we can't modify the ipad so we have to work our network and router location.

Are you deep inside a basement with alot of barrier in between your wireless connection? Maybe try moving your router?

Reset Network Settings: Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset Network Settings. Your device will reset all network settings. Connect to the Wi-Fi again to see if things pan out well this time.
Switch on Airplane mode: You can temporarily switch on Airplane mode and then turn it off to see if the Wi-Fi issues be solved. Swipe up from the bottom to bring the Control Center > Toggle Airplane mode on for 10 seconds > Toggle it to off.
