I can't guess if it's something they installed or just another bargain laptop.
How about a full model number and add a Web Speccy report to see if there's extra going on?

Before that, turn this setting off: Read

I bought a new HP laptop a month or so ago and it runs fine when I'm offline but whenever I connect tot the internet everything (browsers, word docs, folders, ect) will start running really slowly until my computer freezes up entirely. Sometimes it takes an hour or so and sometimes it freezes in the first few minutes. Once that happens I have to turn my computer off with the power button since even the start menu won't work at that point.
Anyone know how to fix this? I'm pretty sure it's a problem with the computer itself since I've used Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge and tried wifi connections at several different places and keeping having the same issue. I don't think it's infected with malware since I've run full system scans and haven't visited any sites I didn't with my old compy which never had this problem. Are there any settings I can tweak to make it run better or should I return it and get another brand?
