It's just adding a number of entries...

As Dango said, it is not a change to the way the registry is designed or functions, and thus will not affect the way registry cleaners and related 'fixit' programs work.

Registry Cleaners are Useful
Jun 8, 2008 4:56PM PDT

I will say "Yes" for the use of registry cleaners to remove unwanted reg entries. As being a home user, my brother uses several applications for his IT projects. Just can't rely that if you have removed any application, invalid entries also get removed. A clutter always have to be cleared up; then why not from your PC too. I perform registry scan once in two months and assure myself that my pc is safe.
If clutter remains there will definitely make your pc slow ! cannot afford that.

I have tried reg cure and other applications like Chily Registry Cleaner which help me to know the risk levels with facilitation of backup and restoration of the entire registry.

Eusing registry cleaner
Jul 25, 2008 2:43PM PDT

I've seen an improvement in performance from Eusing registry cleaner. I'd never previously used such a program. But first, it seemed logical to me to run all other maintenance programs, such as Auslogics defrag, CCleaner, updating and immunizing Spybot S&D. After cleaning and straightening the "house," I then run the registry cleaner, followed by Free registry defrag. Then periodically, I run Chkdsk.

No. It may be untrustworthy.

You don't know what you are using and that may cause problems. Learning to browse the registry and carefully remove files is a better option.

Buying a new computer might be easier

I looked over my registry files and several hundred have no clear association to any programs. The rest have no vague association to any programs. Most of them have no way short of perhaps schooling or hours of research on each one to determine which ones go with with which program. I personally do not have thousands of hours of free time to spend going through my registry and doing the research and investigation to sort out the files.
If only 30 or 40 of the thousands of files that you delete are crytical, you will wish you had used a registry cleaner or had done nothing at all. The for or five hours which you spent each day for a year would be completely wasted.
