Pretty much another NON-STORY...

what would you have the police do every time a complaint is made for a broken window or prank phone call?

The police are far less to "blame" than the teachers who saw and interacted with the boys daily but it is the boys themselves who are to blame.

Media circuses about such things do nothing to help either as they have far too often encouraged such copycat actions.

There were more ominous signs, too: Authorities have said an anonymous tip that year led a deputy to a Web site run by Harris that said the two teens had built pipe bombs and concluded: "Now our only problem is to find the place that will be 'ground zero.'"

Last time I checked, building pipe bombs was a felony, right?

and recall that it had been mentioned long ago and that it had been investigated but there was no evidence that it was anything more than bragging and BS found on many other sites.

Non-news Josh.

Since it turned out that they were in fact doing that and worse, that brings us back to the point here, which is the question of just how competently it was investigated.

From all other indications, probably just as competantly as ...

any other such claims and accusations in any other law enforcement district.

The vast majority of such are baseless and unless there are other evidences readily discernable NO law enforcement agency has unlimited time or funds for long investigations.

I mean look at Clinton. The signs and admission of sexual predation were there even before he was elected but no one seriously thought he would commit the acts he did when and where he did and no one really thought he would stand on camera and wag his finger and lie about it.
