Point-n-shoot wide-angle? Is there anything?

Dec 20, 2004 2:50AM PST

I?m looking for a digital camera with a wide-angle lens. I know I can buy and SLR-type body with interchangeable lenses, if I want to spend big bucks and have a giant, killer camera, but I?m looking for something a little smaller and more low-end than that. Is there any other option out there that people know of?

Wide Angle
Dec 20, 2004 7:22AM PST

A wide angle digital camera is usually shown as a 28mm focal length.

There are not a lot of them.

Here are the ones I know about:

Canon: S60, S70, Pro 1
Fujifilm: E510, E500
Nikon: 8400 (24mm)
Kodak: none
Konica Minolta: A200, A2
Olympus: C8080, C5060 (27mm)
Sony: F828

Point and shoot with add-on lenses
Dec 21, 2004 5:25AM PST

It is possible to buy a point and shoot camera and add other small lenses. As an example, a small adapter ring can be fit onto the Kodak DX6340 (as well as models from Kodak or others). You can then attach either a small zoom (x2) or a wide-angle lens. Other models have similar features, and lenses other than Kodak branded ones are available.
