Rename the .mov to .avi and on 99% of the machines the file just plays.
Why is that?
And then that .AVI never tells us how it's encoded. It only tells us it MIGHT BE IN SOME AVI "container."
About what devices do this in AVI. If makers and sellers do not answer, why buy their product or shop in their stores?

I was looking to buy a Canon Powershoot Elf HS300 camera. But then I found out it saves videos as a .mov file instead of an .avi file -- which for my application does me no good.
