Pocket camera around $300, image quality in focus

Nov 3, 2005 11:49PM PST

I know this is a question that is seen often in forums.
(Yes, I have read the other threads)
But I'm thinking about buying a compact/ultra compact digital camera that costs around $300-$320.
My focus is image quality and startup time + "shoot time".
It seems to me that these cameras have what it takes:
- Nikon 5900
- Canon Digital Ixus 40 (equivalent to SD300?)
or Canon Digital Ixus 50 (equivalent to SD400?)
- Konica Minolta X50

Which one is the better?
Feel free to recommend other cameras with the same qualities and price range.

Thanks, Malthe

yeah, they're almost same specifications, main the difference is the mp like u said..

the SD400 is also a good choice, maybe, for my taste, the only "not-really-negative thing" is the LCD screen which is 2".

Another choice for that price is the Casio EX-Z55, this one have 2,5" LCD screen.

You can get good prices on ebay.com.

Cheers!

It seems to me that it is all down to a battle of the titans.

Still... Which one is the better?
