After having the plasma tv for a couple of months, we started noticing an irritating sound accompanying speech from some shows. Over the next few months, it has gotten so bad we have begun to use only the dvd player for sound.
I requested a warranty repair. I was suspicious when the tech showed up without a toolbox. Basically, he said this was normal, or "within specifications", for a Samsung. He adjusted the equalizer from all frequencies in the middle to the setting for "talk" (no low frequencies). Then he turned the simulated surround sound OFF and pronounced the tv fixed. It took me about 10 minutes to close my mouth and realize he was being serious. I will admit, the irritating sound is now only occasionally noticeable.
If the tv had sounded anything like this when I purchased it, it would have been returned for refund. I find it hard to believe that a reputable business would expect people to be happy with a product that performs poorly after only a few months. The tech had obviously seen this a lot. Has anyone else had this non-repair repair?
