The BAD CAPS issue has been found in far too much gear to write it can't be that.
This is why I'm relegated to inspection any time one of the symptoms shows up.
Google BAD CAPS for the full story and pictures of what to look for.
I bought the plasma TV 2 years 4 months ago. In the last few days it has started to self-cycle when I turn it on after it has been off for a while. It cycles 3 to 5 times before I get normal operation. The timing between the self power cycling is about 15 seconds. Before it gets to normal operation, I see either static or distorted picture along with loud static noise. I called Samsung support and asked if it could be the known issue with power supply board and bad electrolytic caps. I was told the bad cap issue only happens on LCD TVs. Can anyone confirm or deny this? Any insight into my TVs problem?
