Did you try a new battery? The number of days are in the range you can wear out a battery. The battery is a 300 cycle rated model and the cycle count looks incorrect.
You also wrote you pulled out the laptop to use, then decided to apply the charger. That sort of use can wear the battery fast as many laptops sleep by default so if you close the lid or press the power button the battery is slowly drained as it's not plugged in, wearing out the battery in just a year.
So between the report and the story I'd try a new battery.
Hello everybody,
Last year, on August 2016 the 20th, I bought a notebook (15- ba027nl) from HPStore. I received the computer a week later. I made the first boot on September the 2nd. I used the pc two times but I never charged the battery. After that I left it unused inside its packaging. Two weeks ago, on August 2017 the 27th, I needed to use the pc so I tried to turn it on. But it didn’t work. I thought that there was low battery so I plugged the AC adapter. At first the charger led didn’t light then it became red for few seconds and then white. After I turned on the pc I noticed that the battery charge was at 0%. Besides the message on the status bar said “Plugged in, not charging”.
I searched on internet many times to find a solutions. I tried diverse procedures
1) Unplug the AC adapter, remove the battery, plug the AC adapter, turn on the pc, use it for few minutes, turn off the pc, unplug the AC adapter, insert the battery, plug the AC adapter.
2) Unplug the AC adapter, remove the battery, press for many seconds the power button, insert the battery, plug the AC adapter.
3) Disable and able Microsoft ACPI many times. Someone says that when you able it, for few seconds, the battery charges.
4) When the pc is turned off, plug the AC adapter, the led is red. After few seconds Il become white and the unplug the AC adapter. Repeat this for many times.
None of them worked. The battery didn’t charged. I used the software HPAssistant to check the battery status. It says
“The battery works properly, but it doesn’t charged recently. The battery must be charged totally before remove the AC adapter.”
In the details it says:
Warranty type:1
Cycle numbers 1/300
Producer: 131-25-72
Battery age: 447 days
Serial number: 32034 06/13/2016
Temperature: 26°C
Project capacity : 2800 mAh
Complete charge capacity: 2668 mAh (95%)
Residual capacity: 0 mAh
Corrent: 0 mA
Voltage: 4452 mV
Project voltage: 14800 mV
Voltage cell 1: 1136 mV
Voltage cell 2: 1152 mV
Voltage cell 3: 1047 mV
Voltage cell 4: 1122 MV
State:4AD0
CA supply: Yes
Number CT:6FRQE03TZ310MM
The voltage and the cells voltage are variable. Some voltage values were about 4200 mV, 4100 mV, 3900mV.
Every time I lunched HPAssistant I noticed that the cell 3 had the lowest value of voltage.
Sometimes I noticed that for few seconds the battery icon pulsed but suddenly it stopped. In any case the charge level os always 0%.
Have you got any suggestions? The notebook is unused ![]()
Thank you very much.
Francesco.
