Plug and Play config error?

I have a dell dimension 8100 running windows xp pro.

when i startup the computer i get this error, which basically stops the comp from loading.

attempts to enter the bios setup, or safe mode all come up with a keyboard error, and then the plug and play error again.

computer had been working fine up to this point.

any ideas?

Dell has an article on this one.

I'll give the short version. The BIOS couldn't allocate enough IRQs or DMA channels as needed and you get this issue. Dell notes to disable items or remove cards then try again.

It's a bit late so I gave you the short version. Causes are too many to list in this small space.
