PLS READ: Windows Blue Screen Issue

I just bought a Dell XPS M1330 and received it on 2/1/08. I have had multiple blue screens and am getting nervous about what might be causing them. I get a message that says Windows has encountered an unexpected error and that it is dumping its memory, etc etc. When the computer restarts I get the following error message:

BCP4: 857D2008
OS Version: 6_0_6000
Service Pack: 0_0
Product: 768_1

Can anyone help with this?

This is one week old so you are squarely inside a warranty issue. Ask for a fix or return. Could be as simple as bad ram.

Blue Screen
Feb 7, 2008 10:07PM PST

I had the same issues, lots of blue screens on my new Vista system.
I opened the Dell support centre and chose "Assistence from Dell" /Dell Connect.
I got an immediate response and using "Remote assistance" Dell fixed the problem. I never did understand what the problem was but the computer has been flawless ever since.
I have to say I was very happy with the quick support.

Hi,
Please copy and paste the exact error message in the google search bar and you will be able to get the answer to your issue.

And if this does not resolves your issue, just visit the site www.dell.us.com/support and there is a very comprehensive support pages for so many issues and especially for the BLUE SCREEN ERRORS.

And if that does not help you either, get in touch wih the Free Life time Phone support and the Technical staff in the call center is AWESOME and if they find any serious issues with your system, you will be given a fresh replacement of the system.

Dont worry at all....please follow these simple steps and I'm sure you will be able to find the resolution of your issue. The phone numbers are available at the Dell's site and if you are not able to find them, just write to me at pankaj_jain_mca@yahoo.co.in.

Same issues here...
Feb 18, 2008 4:06AM PST

I too cannot use ZoneAlarm (for Vista) on my Vista operating system... new computer and well equipped. Would like to use ZA that is my preference but had to uninstall it due to bogging system to a crawl especially when booting and shutting down. After that everything returned to normal.

For what it's worth!
