can someone please tell me how I connect my two laptops together properly so I can fix the one that has problems, it cannot go online to get the much needed updatesit needs to fix its problems. I would perfer to do this via cable sense the laptop in need of repair cannot accept invatations to help fix it. Both laptops are running windows vista basic, sp1. also they are both acers ugh? so if you can shed some fine details in relation to my Q's I would be forever grateful. thanks.

You May Not Need to Connect The Computers..

What is wrong with the problem computer? Obviously, it can't connect to the internet, but if the problem computer is infected with malware, you CERTAINLY don't want to connect them at this time.. Instead, if there are "fixes" which can be downloaded, why not download them on the "good" computer, copy those files to a CD or flash drive, then transfer them to the "bad" one..

But first, please tell us what the problem is. In addition, please tell us the type of internet connection you're using and whether you have a router as part of that connection.
