But given just what's in your post there will be no 'do this' cure.
Feel free to run WINSOCKFIX and share details about what IP it gets or if you left some DSL PPPoE software installed.

Having a problem with Internet Connection on PC and hoping someone can help.
I have a Netgear Wireless Cable Modem Gateway CG814WGV2 that has been hooked up for over a year. I have 2 laptops that work perfectly with this modem wirelessly.
I have a desktop that was working fine hardlined in to this modem about 8 months ago. I had to take the desktop to my office for a few months where it again worked fine this time plugged into a DSL modem.
I just brought the desktop BACK home, plugged it into the Broadband modem and it won't connect. I had the cable company come out and they said it's a computer problem but I have a hard time believing that. The guy first told me that he was not a 'computer guy' and couldn't do anything but see if the modem was working. I ALREADY knew the modem was working since my laptop was connecting.
The computer is connected properly, I've run diagnostics on it, tried a new ethernet cable and run virus scans. When I check the Network Connections it says I am 'Connected'; this is why the cable guy said it was a computer problem.
I have Microsoft Windows XP Home V2002 with SP2 on the desktop.
Thanks for your help in advance!
