I shall have to be more careful as I am with you, that thread in particular, should be accessible.
How does one prevent 5224 from wrecking threads?

By not using it.

Either start a new subthread by replying to the initial post in the thread, putting that in the subject line and linking to the limited thread, or, go back one post and keep replying to that so the discussion continues "vertically". That can get confusing but it's the best we got till Lee fixes it.

Is that what causes that?

Ahhhh.....so that explains....

In reply to: We have adopted the policy of deleting messages...

....why some posts of mine were removed. I didn't think I'd said anything out of line. I'll stop using the workaround; sorry if it caused any problems in any of the threads in which I used it.

A little notice might have been nice, huh?

In reply to: and, of course, the collective "we"

I think that's why one of my posts was removed. I don't recall using the 5224 workaround, but I guess old habits are hard to break and quite probably did it without catching myself. I got no email about there being a problem with the post, however the new policy is that there won't always be an email so there is no way to know.

For the record though

I can access every post in the thread you linked to without using 'Next Unread'. Am I missing something? Is it a browser issue or something?

I think the Mods have since deleted the 5224 ...

In reply to: For the record though

... post that caused the problem.
