...the prognosis was not good it seemed, so I did the paper over....I think the original was pretty much gone gone gone.....it's amazing what one click can do.
Lesson learned: Save, Save, Save and then Save again!!
I have been working on a research project all day and I accidently have deleted all my work. I use Microsoft Works and have Windows ME. I had a few folders open to store references and other relevant findings as I worked on line. I wanted to open a different folder to store some ideas for a method of Measure I was interested in so I
#1 hit COPY and copied the measure from the internet.
#2 I then hit "SAVE AS" on the document I was working on,
#3 I named the new doc METHOD,
#4 I then chose SELECT ALL and DELETE.
#5 I pasted the measure onto that document.
When I went back to open the original document, the computer said that I had too many things opened so I closed the new doc I had just created (METHOD). When I then opened the original doc it was the measly couple of paragraphs that I'd started out with at the beginning of the day......
.....I just want to cry. I've tried various things to get it back to no avail. A friend said that I'd need nothing short of a hacker to get it back. I hope that's not the case. Please tell me it's not...
Sincerely appreciative, Wendy
