Do NOT buy Toshiba!
I bought a Satellite M305 and 3 weeks later the screen cracked for an unexplained reason. Several hours after using it, I returned to open the computer and was greeted with a crack that made 75% of the screen unreadable. The computer works perfectly, besides the distorted screen. I was alone in my home at the time, and did not drop or in any way cause ?physical damage? to the computer. Toshiba examined it and claims that it is my fault (because they could not prove it was not theirs) and is refusing to honor their warranty. They claim that their warranty has a ?no LCD screen repair? policy although this is not listed anywhere in the warranty. Who wants a computer screen that spontaneously breaks???? Repairs cost $400+ (more than half of the price I paid for the computer)! You WILL get screwed over if you buy their product. If you don?t believe me, believe the others who have had the same problem: http://www.techsupportforum.com/hardware-support/laptop-support/168683-mysterious-cracked-screen-toshiba-again.html
