Please Help with my Zen Micro Headphone prob !

Sep 28, 2005 6:54AM PDT

Hello all , I have recently purchased a zen micro 2 months ago or so. Never dropped it or anything but I just noticed a problem that's annoying the hell out of me. Something is up with the headset port. When I shake it in my hand for example it cuts out , music comes out of one headphone ear etc. Also when I turn the headset knob thingy it does the same thing. I've tested it with 3 diff. pairs of headphones so i'm sure it's not the headphones thats messed up. Do I need to upgrade firmware ? Clean the headphone hole or something ? Keep in mind i haven't really used it much, never dropped etc.

a mistake made on many of the micro's is its poor headphone jack quality. i'd recommend contacting creative customer support, and they'll send you a new one.

I was fidgeting around with it , stupid me decided to try to clean the headphone jack with a paperclip and alcohol and I heard something click and now when the power button is switched on it doesn't even turn on Sad And when I put inside the headset it makes a crackling noise now, before it actually worked and played music. Oh and when I open the battery pack I smell something burnt. I doubt they'll give me a refund now. I looked it up turns out this is a super common problem this is the last time I ever buy a creative product.
