HP has replaced the motherboard on this line many times for many people.
As the issue is with a chip on the board no one I know has the chip or the 25,000 buck machine to swap the chip out the fix is to replace the main or mother board.
And you thought this was going to be a tough question?

I have an hp pavilion dv6000 laptop with windows vista premium bios version f.3d 18oo mhz. It has been having several problems, it starts up and immediately shuts itself off.The screen is black but the led panel is on I am unable to get any response from any buttons except to power off or on. I was able to restore system for a day and then it reverted back to starting and shutting off. All help is appreciated.
