General discussion

please help with buying decision

Hello everyone,

I'm new to this forum and I really could use some advice. I am going to be buying a new pc in a month and I haven't decided on anything yet. I have had a couple of Dell's in the past. The only one I would consider is the XPS 4th Gen. I use my pc for alot of multimedia, some pc games, and alot of school work. I would prefer not to build my own pc because I am not that advanced in computers. I looked at alienware.com and I didn't like how you have to open the compartment to open the cd or dvd compartments. I wanted to put together my own pc but in a month and with minimal knowledge I just don't see how that's possible. I got ripped off the last time I went to a mom and pop store and had them build me a pc from the ground up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i looked everywhere and ended up with a systemx ascent with a amd 64, 3400 processor. it's fantastic. i have xp media 2005 and couldn't be more pleased. i ordered it through tigerdirect.com

check them out on line and then call for some information. mine was custom built and the options offered were great. good luck.
