Question

Please help while I still have hair (10.1 tablet)

Jun 10, 2013 2:17AM PDT

We live in Spain and I bought a Samsung Galaxy 10.1 tablet over from the UK (bought on Amazon) and I love it, I have a problem however when I want to buy something from the Play store (or anywhere else for that matter) I assume because it's using my home ISP I get offered films and books and whatever in Spanish. Is there a way to alter the settings somewhere please?
If you reply please be aware you are talking to a (hairless) numpty so simple is best!
Thanks everso

Under Settings, language and Imputs, has the language been changed to English, that may do the trick if it hasn't

Oooooooh Bob
I thought I had an answer to my problem and then right at the end at the last sentence.....

Note that this will not let you buy contents from a country you don't live in, since you need a credit card and an IP from that country.

.............. so in essence, as I thought, it's the IP address stopping me, ridiculous when people live all over the world!
Wonder if I could use a proxy server?

Of course you need an IP and card from the country

You buy in.

I don't want to bore you with the details but countries differ in their laws and the right to some product sale and royalty (money) can differ from one to the next. And some countries don't have it all set up so what to discuss here?

Remember this forum never engages in how to get around the laws of the the land so I hope you understand that any lock that occurs from that is just the moderators following the policies here.

-> You seem to be among the new generation that doesn't understand why sales and such across borders are a PITA.

TBH I never gave it a thought that I wouldn't be able to buy films on the tablet in English when I bought it, I assumed like the computer I would just pick a store for the required language like I use Amazon.co.uk and not Amazon.es. Naive I suppose but there you are, said I was a numptie!
