Please help! Urgent!

by flanks / September 10, 2005 1:32 AM PDT

I am sure I have a virus on my machine, except that no spysweep or virus software is picking it up! asquared picked it up, but doesnt remove it. I need some help.

When i load taskmanager I see multiple instances of iexplore.exe

I dont use IE, I use firefox. When I remove an instance from the process list it is automatically reinserted.

I have found one folder called 'Part Deaf the Beep' which contains an application called 'Mpeg Defy'. The folder is read only, and I cant change that. When i try it automatically resets to Read only.

This program is constantly trying to load, I know this because a dos window pops up saying 'file is too large to fit in memory' every 20 seconds or so! This file is undeletable as it is being used by something running. I can not delete the folder for the same reason.

Needless to say it is a real pain. It is eating up my memory and interupting me constantly with this pop up dos window. Any help would be most gratefully received!!

i think so you can easily get into safe mode and entered as administrator(this is a master system) you can easily delete the virus or you can go to add or remove and remove if that is a software.
