It sounds as if the NTFS volume is now corrupt. Not unknown to happen with those mounters and why we hope you have a backup copy.
-> In the future I suggest you try a network copy. That would have saved you from what may have been your last copy of what's on that hard drive.
Recovery and more software is noted at the top of the CNET Storage Forum if you forgot to backup, and I think we added some Apple titles.

Hi,

I have recently used NTFS mounter and now I have a big problem... Please help....

I have Seagate FreeAgenet GoFlex 500GB hard drive.
I have TOSHIBA laptop with Windows XP.
I recently bought a MacBook Pro.

So I tired using the hard drive on my Mac, but it only read but did not let me write. So, I did searching online and found NTFS mounter. I downloaded it on my Mac and it was working perfectly at first. At the end of the day, I tired to restart it as the computer started to act a little weird. I pressed the restarted button, but my Mac froze with blue screen and it did not restart, so I had to force quit it. Then I started the computer again. I tried using the hard drive again, and now my Mac does not even read the content of the hard drive. I got upset, I connected the hard drive to my Windows PC. Even PC does not read it anymore.

On Mac, the hard drive actually shows up on the desktop, but when I click on it, it says "0 item". When I check the info, it seems like the content is still there, as there are only about 40GB left in the hard drive. I tried to do Disk Utility repair, but although it shows up on Disk Utility, it does not let me click on the Repair button.

On Windows, it is almost the same thing. On MY COMPUTER, it shows the disk, but when I click on it, it does not show anything. I tried to do Check Disk, but it automatically stops before started the check disk.

I did some search to see if I can find anybody who's had similar problem and I found a person who had exactly the same problem. But this person says he/she solved this problem by using Disk Utility. I cannot use Disk Utility, so I don't know what to do next.

I have a lot of files in the hard drive, a lot of them are backed up, but some of the are not. So I would not want to format it.

Please let me know what to do next....

I am not very good at this kind of technical side of computers, so if you could explain in an easy-to-understand language, I would really appreciate it.

Thank you in advance.
