New? Nope.
HDR-CX500 series or HDR-XR550V or HVR-A1... as far as I know...
The sensor does not need to be CCD. The camcorder needs to not have "IR blockers" at the imaging chip level.
I am a paranormal investigator of many years and my Sony camcorder with nigh shot just died. I am seeking a new camcorder that is:
-HD-
-records to a memory card or has a hdd
-can use infrared light specifically the sony hvl-irm
-under $500
if anyone knows of a camera that can meet my needs I would greatly appreciate it.
My research has turned up that the sensor must be CCD? Is this sounding correct or can a CMOS sensor also see iR light.
Thank you for any help you can give me.
So far I am looking at
Samsung smxk40 (will a sony ir light work on other camcorders?)
Sony sr45 (although not HD
)
