Please Help me to Choose

Jan 21, 2009 1:29PM PST

I have the opportunity to purchase either an Apple iPod touch 16 GB (2nd Generation) or an Archos 605 Wi-Fi (160 GB), and I was wondering which is better. I will be using my MP3 player mainly for listening to music, watching videos, listening to books, storing photos, playing games.

I am (kind of) technology literate, my main question is will the Archos 605 be compatible with my ibook G4 (such as pulling music off my itunes, purchasing items from the itune store, downloading pictures from iphoto, etc.? Also, it is my understanding that I will be able to access my wireless internet on either MP3 player, but I have to buy plug-ins, correct? Is that for both models? Also with the Archos 605, will I be able to hook it up to my direct tv dvr and record shows? Does this also apply to the Ipod touch?

Thank you for your time and input,
Brandy

What I know...

Well. My brother has an iTouch and the games are very detailed. He can listen to music, play games, get online (as long as there's a router to connect to), and view videos. He watches youtube videos on his itouch. No plug-ins required.

Now the main question is... If you buy the Archos 605... Are you going to use the 160GB? There's no point on having a 160GB if you're only going to put, say, 10GB of info on it. So on that regard... iTouch (for me anyways) would be better.

iTunes wise.. and syncing.. you can find that out on Google. BUT! If you can't find any information as to whether or not an Archos 605 can actually use iTunes for syncing... You should go with iTouch since it can obviously go with iTunes.

This is all I know.. Sorry if I wasn't any more helpful haha... so ya. iToucI'd go for h (personally speaking). Seems more portable too.
