Question

PLEASE HELP ME SOLVE THIS DRIVER ISSUE

Mar 30, 2020 2:14PM PDT

okay so i built a very respectable pc about 3 years ago. Specs: GTX 1060 6Gb, intel 5600 k, msi gaming x MB, 16 Gb RAM, 250 GB SSD & 1 TB drive.

This setup was perfect until i started getting issued with a flashing lock screen where i was only able to login after 5-10 mins of the screen flashing.
I then upgraded the system to the PC part picker link below.
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/
after the upgrade the PC was okay but it started to get errors such as irql_not_less_or_equal and a few others. knowing these blue screens are related to drivers of tried EVERYTHING that youtube has to offer to fix this but the crashes continue and are actually very frequent. i have even tried reinstalling windows multiple times and still nothing has worked. If you guys have any suggestions please help me out.

thanks,

Answer
Let's try NO DRIVERS.

A test I run to see if it's hardware is to clean install Windows and don't try driver installs. I find this clean environment can give me a lead on hardware issues.

The hardware list does not tell me much but a clean install should be fine outside of gaming, audio which is optional.

There are tomes about IRQ BSODs. That doesn't help here as we need to figure out what's causing it.

Try downsizing the PC. We don't need more than one stick of RAM, we check the fans are good as need, the heatinks are on right and no need for drives other than the boot drive. What else can we remove?

automatic driver download

whenever i try to do a fresh install of windows doesnt it automatically install drivers for some of your hardware ? anyway i still crash even after the clean install, is there a likely component thats causing the issue? i forgot to mention that i thought it was connected to my wifi adapter because it crashed much less when i took it out but i was of course without internet.

So it was downsized?

That's not good. When that happens most of the time it's the motherboard.

replacing the motherboard did not work

hello, i got a completely new motherboard Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS and am still crashing EVERYTIME i try to setup windows. is there any chance it could be an issue with my m.2? it crashes eveytime just as i enter the right password for the wifi in the windows setup

I'd test that out.

At the shop we can use an old HDD or new SSD to test that out.

Remember that a new system setup can really test a person's skills. I can write over and over about current BIOS, installing steps, drivers from the maker but this can be for some their Waterloo.
