Question

Please help me decide

Jan 14, 2013 9:40AM PST

Hi all,

I am looking for a Tablet to to use for school (nursing), reading, videos, and gaming. only need wifi.

I currently have a 1st gen Kindle fire and I like it especially for the small size and portability but the app store is rather lacking.

Here is what I have been looking at so far.

1 an Ipad mini or Ipad

2. a Nexus 7

3. a Kindle fire HD 8.9 ( I can get a deal as I am a student)

what do you guys think of those choices? or am I missing out on another potential device.

my budget is about $500

Thanks

Very nice but what is this gaming you write about? There are plenty of games for the Kindle Fire HD models and the Nexus but they tend to be a sub class of PC/PS3 gaming.

The Amazon store looks fine to me even when compared to the Google store.

Be sure your school advises you that this would be acceptable. And look at the Asus Transformer with the keyboard.

HELP YOU DECIDE WHICH TABLET

I'd like to know what you decided. The wife and I both have the original Sony Tablet S. They go for about $175 now and give all the goodies the new tablets have. I urge you to take a look at them. The 16gb version is the cheapest way to go. You'll have 3 or more app markets available (Sony's, Google, Amazon, and lots more I think). Check out ebay for one or splurg and buy the newer Xperia Tablet S. Either way, I'd be interested to hear about what you settled on.
