And your product load (apps) is very advanced so I'm going to write you need to get into more powerful laptops. Consider a Surface with the usual i5 or i7 with enough storage to handle what you are doing.
The battery runtime varies by about 10X as the load changes so be sure to reveal how many hours you need as you run your apps then double that since batteries age.
My view is 8GB is usually plenty along with the i5 but the bottleneck I see is old technology hard disks. Move to SSD to get current.
Hello all! I'm currently working from a 5-year-old Toshiba Satellite and am in need of an upgrade. I've done some research, but I'll admit that PCs aren't my area of expertise, so I need some help.
I'm a graduate student who uses the internet for research (a ton) and runs a lot of programs at once every day. I use my laptop to program some for school as well (Python, Java, some SQL stuff). Other than that, I work as a graphic designer but currently can't work at home because my laptop can't handle it. I run Adobe Creative Cloud software including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere, and Acrobat. I travel a good bit and live away from home, so I use Skype frequently. Also (I've noticed that this matters when laptop shopping), I'm not a gamer. Just a Netflix streamer!
Here are some of my specifications: 2-in-1, 14 or 15-inch screen, high-quality display (with high RGB coverage), lightweight (lighter than 4 lbs would be amazing), thin, long battery life, and durable build. I think I'll only need an i5 intel core processor and probably only 8GB of ram (I save a lot of stuff to the cloud), but you tell me if you think I'll need more. I've been saving up for a new PC for a while and plan on using it for about 5 years or more, so I'm not looking for the cheapest option. I'm super interested in the Yoga models, but I'm not sure which one I need. I've also looked at the Dell XPS 15, but I think I like the Lenovos better. I'm open to opposition on that.
Suggestions would be very much appreciated. I want to make a good investment! Thank you!
