While there are 4CC codes, the AVI is a bucket or container. It is not a format.
Are you done with AVI yet? Some want to keep the position that AVI is a format or encoding and for those folk we can't move forward.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H.262/MPEG-2_Part_2 now gets us into the actual encoding but here's the rub, even with that known some TVs don't adher to that spec and still won't play it. Some TVs in what some know about but won't tell stop playing files at just over 2 hours. Well discussed why that is.
Since you didn't reveal the actual TV I'm going to tell you to get a WDTV and forget all the madness.

I want to convert my video clip to use on my tv, it require to be either .avi, .mpg2, with codec/profile as MP@HL, but I do not know how to get those profiles or codec.
