Question

Please help diagnose my new rig!

I just built my pc a few weeks ago and have been mainly using it for playing Overwatch. Unfortunately it crashes every hour or so back to the desktop with a blizzard error. I went through their tech support and nothing was wrong on their end apparently. Anyone here good with MSInfo? It's gibberish to me.

But first, crash logs rarely tell you what to do. Let's hear what this PC is. Make, model of everything. Also, be sure to include items like BIOS version, driver versions, etc.

Aha. Only one version old.
"Z97S SLI Krait Edition (MS-7922) V10.7 BIOS Release"

"This BIOS fixes the following problem of the previous version:
- Improved memory compatibility.
- Fix that system is not able to boot from legacy DVD ROM when RAID is activated.
- Updated CPU microcode."

This does NOT mean it will fix your PC but it's on the list of updates you need.


You have a K CPU so one of the recurring crashes I run into is overclocked PCs. This is not supportable and if a client says it is, I send them to who told them that.

What does C:/Users/ASK/AppData/Local/EpicGamesLauncher/Saved/Logs/EpicGamesLauncher.log tell? That seems the only possible useful info in your post.
Also check the Windows Event log for possible cues.
And please answer Bob Proffitt's questions

It's not even clear if it's a hardware issue (temparature, power, overclocking, defective part, BIOS) or a software issue (drivers, settings, or the game itself, which is unlikely if your PC is the only one that does this).

If no luck, try a ready made gaming PC that's above the recommended system requirements in stead of building one yourself. Those come with warranty, which can be a nice feature.

Yes I installed all of the latest drivers and found the bios update that the other poster mentioned. My PSU is a 650w thermaltake smart. Is that not powerful enough?

Your psu is a little light but should be good enough.
Don't change that yet.

Does anything other than this game cause the machine to crash?

As a test leave the side panel off and run the game.

If it is a single rail model, still light but new, not the prime suspect.

Most of the time it's some memory issue. I usually can try it with a single stick of RAM to sniff that out.

Be sure to check out the game's support boards. One poor soul was crashing on a game and I found a discussion about that game and CRASH when anti aliasing was set to 4 or 16X. Imagine if your game had a bug like that.
