Question

Please help choosing a laptop

Jun 20, 2016 11:20PM PDT

Hi. My wife is transferring to the college in this summer, and her laptop just broke today. She is in need of new laptop, and I am wondering which one is better choice for her. She is not a gamer or anything, but some power won't hurt either Happy. I looked at few sites, and found couple choices.

1. Acer Aspire E E5-575-52JF ($349.99)

https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire-E5-575-52JF-15-6-Laptop/dp/B01GUNVCS4

15.6 inch screen, 6th generation 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5, 4GB Ram, 1TB Hard drive.

2. Asus 15.6" X540LA-SI30205P Laptop ($265.99)

https://www.amazon.com/Asus-X540LA-SI30205P-Laptop-Memory-Silver/dp/B01DMNX5PS

15.6 inch screen, 5th generation 2.2 GHz Intel Core i3, 4GB Ram, 1TB Hard drive.

Which one would be better for her? Or any recommendation under $350? I am not familiar with the laptop, so any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The current prize on Amazon for the first one is $449, not $349.

My nod is to the i5 model.

But for budget and school work the cheap one will do fine too.

Core i5 is better and the aspire series laptop can lasted for long.
