Please help bring me back up to speed!

I gave up my PDA several years ago when I took early retirement, but I?ve decided I want it back, especially since I can now get a smartphone which combines both functionalities. I?m trying to clarify a couple of things. First, I?m currently a Verizon Wireless user so will upgrade through Verizon. I?m looking at the Samsung SCH-i730. I know that this unit will provide my email, but I don?t understand exactly how. I use Comcast as my ISP. How does Verizon retrieve my emails? Or must I go the internet and bring up Comcast hotmail? Second, the features description on Verizon?s web site says ?No? in the category of Mobile Web. I?m just not sure what that means. In the same features listing, it say ?Yes? to Broadband Access. Is this Verizon DSL?
Any clarification by those of you in the know will be gratefully received!
