Even my crusty 4 year old p3-600 MHz Acer ter-600 runs Autocad without a problem. Surely today's offerings can do this?

We now have 2 r3000s in the collection.

I replaced my ter600 with the DP341AV model of the r3000 Athlon 64 line. Remember this is a little bigger than a notebook and more like a desktop replacement in size and weight.

I'd buy more if we needed them.

athlon vs intel

but either athlon or intel still run the autocad good? How about the 64mb video card . Is it good enough?

This machine is > 3X the former machine.

Your definition of "run good" needs refinement. The r3000 I have would handily outclass desktops just over a year ago. Surely this will be a great laptop to have?

Give me something to work with here.
