Resolved Question

Please Help

by Code7526 / October 17, 2014 12:37 AM PDT

Hi All

We got a Dell Inspriron one 2310 desktop running window 7 home premium operating system.

When we open google chrome or microsoft outlook 2010 program the windows start flashing on and off sometimes and the pointer on the screen starts moving around by itself.

What is wrong with our computer? I have Rkill and our anti virus on our computer and Spybot on our computer and I cannot pick up any malware? Should I reinstall our operating system on the computer again?

What could possibly be causing our computer to behave like it is?

Best regards,

Computer Dell Inspriron one 2310 desktop
Operating System: Window 7 home premium

Hi All,

I created an image of our computer onto a flash drive.

How do I format our hard disk drive and install the image of window 7 from our flash drive back onto our computer?

Best regards,

Two remarks:
1. How to restore an image depends on how you made it. The procedure for an image made with Clonezilla is quite different from the procedure for an image you made with Acronis. You forgot to tell.
2. It doesn't make sense to format before restoring the image. That effectively returns the PC to the exact condition it was in when you made the image. So it's kind of automatic unformatting.

Two questions:
3. Did you make an image of the whole hard disk, of just of the c:-drive?
4. What's the purpose of the whole operation?

Hi Kees,

I went to start and then Dell DataSafe Local Back UP, inserted a flash drive and clicked on 'Create System Recovery Media" I assumed I created an image of our computer?

Best regards, James

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
