Please help!

Jan 8, 2005 6:26PM PST

I gave my regular logon full access to my Quicken 2003. I can't open Quicken in my regular logon but I can in my admin logon. I just keep getting the error message "Can't open file."
I have Windows XP. Do I need to uninstall Quicken and reinstall it? Will I lose anything? Should I install it under my admin logon or give my regular logon admin capabilities and install it on my regular logon? Thanks.

The Problem is Rights

XP Home edtion loads of fun Happy

The first thing to do would be to give your regular login Admin rights. The problem is that the Admin profile is the owner of the file. So logic dictates that if you have admin rights you should be able to access it. Then if you are still unable to access it after doing this then I would re-install it under your regular profile.

As to losing data I would make a current backup of your Quicken data first. Then after the re-install is complete if when you open Quicken it wants to start over simple tell it you want to restore from backup and follow the steps.

Have Fun

try giving administrative privileges to your logon account. and from your acount with administrative privileges, try opening the program. this might work.

good luck.Happy
