OEM VS Retail

Bare = OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer)

OEM VS Retail Box

Essentially a Retail Boxed Hard drive will come with all the essentials needed to get your new hard drive up and running this includes:

Mounting Screws and brackets
IDE - SATA Cable
Manual
Installation Software (Drive Copy etc)
Tech Support
Warranty
A return policy?

Where as a BARE (OEM) Hard drive may include none or very few of the retail box features.

Be sure to check what is included before you make your buying decision.

Hope this helps
