Please Help!

My hard drive crashed recently and had to be replaced. The problem is I lost all of my music except for what was on my ipod mini. When I installed the new hard drive, I re-installed itunes. But now there doesn't seem to be any way to transfer the music from my ipod onto my itunes library, and if I try to sync my mini with itunes all of the songs on my mini will be erased. I run windows XP. Any suggestions? I don't want to lose the hundreds of songs that I have no hard copy of anywhere.

Go into the preferences of your new copy of iTunes and set the syncing of the iPod to be Manual.
This will prevent the disaster that auto-syncing will create. ie, total wipeout.
