The "sony vaio vgn-cs11sj" looks perfect for your son. Since there are a lot of coming games that require a lot of memory to run properly, the 4GB RAM will come in handy. The processor is alright; it wouldn't hurt to go up to 2.5ghz. The Hard Drive is good but if you can try getting 7200RPM for optimal performance and lower the chances of hard drive bottlenecks.

The only downside to the "sony vaio vgn-cs11sj" is that its memory is shared... not dedicated (unlike the Dell Vostro 2510).

considering both I would consider (in my personal opinion) the Sony.

If your son will do a lot of gaming that demand a fast computer (i.e. Crysis, Left 4 Dead, etc) then you might as well buy a Desktop instead because for the same price it will be rigged enough to play modern games.

I hope that helped on deciding between the two.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
