Anyone able to install Playon.TV after updating to Win. 10? I've been working with their support since last October (2015) and still can't install it. It says it can't uninstall the old version. I've tired about everything. They've closed my ticket a couple of times and haven't replied to me now in over three weeks. Surely I'm not the only one with this problem!

Well you are not alone, although I can install and run the app....on Windows 10....BUT it refuses to record most things. I DID get a few recordings to complete but up to now it crashes the service app :-O. I also have been working with their 'support' for a LONG time. In fact I first tried this app probably a year ago and ran into similar issues back then (on Windows 7/8/8.1).

The promise of this app is amazing - if only they can finally get it working properly. I signed up for a lifetime membership right from the start, so am fully paid up :-O - but can't use it - VERY frustrating....

There's a similar free app in the windows store.

Works fine on Win 10. It's called FilmOn live tv. Might suit you.

Thanks for the response - I'll check that out. Meanwhile seems like we might have a solution in the pipeline. The app doesn't (yet) seem to like bad packets (or dropouts ??) on my internet connection.

OK so I just had a look at their website and the channel coverage seems to me to be WAY limited compared to PlayOn. Tried to find US ABC = nada. Xfinity (I have a US Xfinity subscription) = nada.
Gave up at that point.....

I just upgraded to Windows 10 as well. Everything else seems to work, but I have the same recording issues you described. How did you repair it?

Does't Work Period!
Apr 22, 2017 2:16AM PDT doesn't work with Windows 10, as it didn't work with my edition 7 either. I spent hours of trying to get it to work on both. My wife and I have the broadband speed of 150 mbps, we're somewhat computer savvy and still couldn't get it to sync. We use a Roku and every other app we use on it works perfectly. I usually don't write reviews but I really resent having wasted so much time trying to get this app to work and want everyone to know that it's not only a waste of money but a waste of precious time. What programs don't buffer forever, others won't play because one has to have an account with each tv station they offer! Dumb! Most of us using this type of app and the devices we've included in our arsenal are doing so to "cut-the-cord"! We're still paying for internet service but don't feel that our entertainment should exceed our utilities bills! This app just doesn't work, too bad because it's a great idea with a really poor ability. If we still had all of the cable channels why would we need it!? Roku, with Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime and TubiTV and many of the other apps included on Roku, over-the-air antenna and your pc, why would we pay for The first time I did it on Windows 7 shame on them, the second time on Windows 10, shame on me? Don't waste your time...

PlayON Problems Galore

Read all the above reviews and messages about PlayON and agree with most of you about most of the issues. I had no problems installing it on Win-10 but reliability of running PlayON is a major issue. It runs correctly about 20% of the time and it fails the rest. The PlayON idea and technology of commercial skipping is just about the only good idea here but poorly implemented in the SW. There are new versions of the SW every few days to correct some issues and while the previous issues may have been corrected, new ones appear. Thus, one has to constantly be on the lookout for new SW versions to download and install. This is a constant maintenance nightmare. Furthermore, I also specifically agree with the user named "mikeglv" about the ridiculousness of the need to authenticate that we have an account with each TV network. THE NEED FOR THIS IS SUPREMELY RIDICULOUS, I DON'T NEED ANY ACCOUNT TO USE THE CHANNEL-MASTER DVR+ TO RECORD ANY OF THE OTA BROADCASTS! I am just about ready to give up on PlayON even though I have a lifetime subscription. I actually am testing the TabloTV system now which is a network based OTA DVR and it seems to be working pretty well. It has apps for the vast majority of the streaming devices, thus you treat the whole TabloTV system as a network based DVR, commercial skipping is accomplished by FF for 30 or 60 sec until the wanted scene is view-able then resume playing from there. Pretty slick, now would it be a science fiction dream to have the ad skipping technology of PlayON incorporated into the TabloTV device?
