Playing videos on usb that goes directly to command prompt

Why does when my videos that I have downloaded on my flash drive doesn't play, instead it goes directly to command prompt.

For Windows this could be an odd file association problem. What video is this, what file extension and what app did you associate with this extension?

This is a basic Windows skill so I'll pause here.

So you run VLC player or Windows Media Player, do File>Open and browse to a video on that flash drive to open it, and then suddenly the command prompt opens in stead of the player playing the video? That's really strange.
