Playing PS2 through my laptop/pc

Nov 5, 2005 7:16PM PST

I have recently brought a Dazzle 90 composite video input device that connects to my laptop through USB. I am trying to set my laptop up to let me use it as a monitor for my PS2. Problem is that although there are lots of packages for playing video input their seems to be very few packages that can handle the sound!! I have got DScaler 4111 installed and that plays the image fine but no sound is output, i know that it is possible to do this as the standard capture software that came with the dazzle device plays the video and sound perfectly but you cant view it full screen only in a tiny little box on the capture menu. So what I need is an aplication that can play an input signal from a composite input device full screen and handle the sound comming via the USB2 device l/r sound pins. please help i have been at this for two days now!!!

Skip the convertor and wire the audio to your laptop's audio inputs.

How does it work?

I'm a college student who has just bought a laptop. I would love to be able to play my Playstation 2 through its 15.4" widescreen and then sell my old 14" CRT TV. Is the Dazzle device a good product? Easy to set up? Appreciate the help. I was thinking you could use the optical output on the PS2 and play the sound throught a hifi that has an optical in?

playing ps2 through pc, audio difficulty

simple, play the sound from your ps2 through a seperate sound system, not through the pc. I play my sound through my hifi, just plug the l/r audio cables into the aux of your hifi.If you already play your pc sound through your hifi, buy a mixer, ive got a simple box with a button on it to switch between two audio inputs, then plug this box into your hifi, so u can have 2 audio sources coming through it, then when u want to play ps2 just set the mixer to that input. so the video is on computer, but audio is on the hifi. what software did u get to allow larger viewing of videos through dazzle?
