Question

Playing MP4 files

Oct 1, 2013 7:32AM PDT

The 'Windows Media Player' on my Windows XP system will not open MP4's. I have tried unsuccessfully to upgrade to a newer version. Of other suggested programs I have tried, 'Real Player' was the only one to do good job, but it causes problems with watching other pictures and I keep getting the message "High CPU usage by Real Player" even when I'm not using it. Anybody have a solution?

The VLC Player has saved more than one user nervous system.
There isn't a file type I've 'thrown' at it, that VLC would not play.
It is the correct answer, just adding 'Seconded'.
