Playing a North American NTSC standard Wii on a PAL or SECAM

Mar 11, 2007 2:52PM PDT

Television.

Will there be any problems with doing this? I've been told that most "modern" (I'm not sure what that means... <5 years old?) PAL and SECAM tv sets can accept NTSC a/v devices. This would include a Nintendo Wii... But, the resolution between the standards is different, and I'm wondering if that would create a problem for me when trying to play games on a PAL or SECAM system.

I'm going overseas soon and I'd just sorta like to know the answer to this question before schlepping my Wii 6000miles across the ocean only to find that it just doesn't work.

Thanks for your input!
