Locking grommets

You might find them at places like Lowes or electrical supply outlets that deal in wire, conduit and related hardware.

Hi, thanks. The clip is used to lock in the ribbon that slides into a connector. You slide in the ribbon connector in then the clip slides in underneath the ribbon to lock it in.I went through 50 pages in google and a book from HP and found nothing.I would think that HP would have it listed considering how important it is but I guess that is typicle of these companys. Thanks

This may be a specialty/proprietary part

made for very specific use. In such cases, you may not be able to acquire the part or you need to check with an HP authorized repair station to see what they can do for you. Otherwise, you get creative and fashion something that serves the purpose. Manufacturers do have vendors make parts for their products that aren't found in electrical supply shops. Sorry 'bout that. I was envisioning the type of grommet that might carry an electrical cord into an appliance and hold it in place. You can get clips that clamp ribbon cables which use a double sided sticky foam tape to hold them down in a chassis or you can get a similar type of clip that uses tie wraps...zip ties as some call them. They have been Radio Shack items but I've not been in a RS for years.

You mean tie raps (google for pics)? Last time I bought them was in a gas station in Germany.
