Plasma TV Series 550, Less than a week old and dead.

Sep 4, 2009 9:12AM PDT

Just to get the easy questions out of the way.

I have-

* checked that the power cable is properly installed to the television.
* Made sure that the outlet that the cable is plugged into for the television actually has power.
* Changed the batteries in the remote.
* Replaced the power cable with another that i have checked and is working.

This television is less than a week old and has been on only a handful of times and has been treated like the Ark of the covenant.

I wake up this morning and nothing.
The little red light that stays on when the television is off isn't even lit.

Let me also add that the heat from this television is incredible.
I had thought that it was odd that a television would heat up so much.
is this normal with plasma screens?

So i know this is ridiculously vague, i just thought i would give you guys a chance. And i truly appreciate any and all suggestions.
This television is huge and not something i want to be running all over town if there is a simple solution that i have overlooked.

Thank you again.
